Historic Parisian facade detail

What does it take to weave modern life into the bones of a 150-year-old Parisian façade?

It demands more than demolition and drywall. It requires a forensic understanding of historic fabric, a mastery of invisible modern systems, and a single point of contact who speaks both the language of heritage boards and contemporary living.

Explore Our Methodology

8th Arrondissement Renovation, 2023. Preserving the street-facing heritage, liberating the interior volume.

Our Promise

We restore Parisian property to its full potential, balancing historic integrity with the demands of 21st-century comfort.

Our Constraint

Every project is governed by strict local preservation codes, dense urban logistics, and the unique material narrative of the site itself.

Our Deliverable

A seamless, transparent build process culminating in a space that feels authentically yours and indelibly Parisian.

The Ironexa Site Log: Methodology in Practice

A record of how we approach projects, bounded by the realities of Parisian construction.

The Preservation Mandate

Original plaster and moldings are treated as artifacts, not debris. This dictates our sourcing—lime-based plasters, custom-milled timber profiles—and our timeline, as each element requires a separate approval from the Commission du Vieux Paris.

The Invisible Infrastructure

Installing a full-home air-to-water heat pump and intelligent HVAC system in a load-bearing masonry structure requires surgical precision. We route systems through legacy voids and service shafts, preserving ceiling heights and ornamental detail where modern builders often resort to soffits.

Constraint Note: Noise ordinances in Paris restrict work to 8:00-17:00 on weekdays. Our project schedule integrates these hours directly, using pre-fabricated components to maximize on-site efficiency within the allotted window.

The Single-Point Contact

A dedicated Project Director serves as your sole liaison. This eliminates the communication drift between architect, structural engineer, interior designer, and the 12+ trades we coordinate. They provide daily, time-stamped photo logs and weekly concise reports—not endless email chains.

The Material Board

A tactile lexicon of the projects we undertake. Each item is a definitive sample from recent work, detailing its origin and application.

The Saint-Germain Loft Conversion

The Challenge: A 19th-century printworks in the 6th arrondissement, structurally sound but without natural light to the core. The client's brief was for a "daylight-filled residence" without altering the protected street façade.

The Solution: A surgical insertion of a central glass atrium cutting through two floors of the roof structure. Engineered with a steel frame that distributes load to the perimeter walls, preserving the original brickwork entirely.

"Ironexa didn't just renovate a building; they solved a puzzle we thought was impossible. The space feels like it was always meant to be this way."
